Syracuse punter Riley Dixon was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Specialist of the Week on Tuesday.
Dixon, a senior, threw the game-winning touchdown pass on a fake field goal to lift the Orange to a 27-26 season-opening victory over Villanova in double overtime Friday night at the Carrier Dome.
Dixon also punted five times for an average of 43.4 yards, including two punts for more than 50 yards.
Also, SU Director of Athletics Daryl Gross announced a nonconference home-and-home series with the University of South Florida to begin next season on Tuesday.
The Orange renewed the series with the Bulls, a Big East foe from 2005-12. The first game will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Oct. 10, 2015. USF will play the Carrier Dome the following season on Sept. 17, 2016.
