BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Massena-based state police picked up Stephen G. Olmstead, 32, of 9 Oak St., Massena, on a bench warrant issued by the Massena Town Court alleging he had violated the conditions of his release under probation supervision on April 23 after he had been charged with felony counts of driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The probation department, in a uniform court report, said since being released under probation supervision he had been arrested on new charges and entered a business where alcohol is sold for on premises consumption, both violations of his release conditions. Probation department officials said Olmstead had been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree stalking on June 18. He had also been seen drinking a beer outside Mack’s Tavern, Waddington, on July 13 by a probation officer. Olmstead was arraigned on the warrant Tuesday by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
