POTSDAM — CJ’s-Chip’s Place overcame Ogdensburg Pepsi-The Place 4-2 while Cornerstone Services-SeaComm battled S&L Electric to a scoreless draw in North Country Men’s Summer Soccer action on Wednesday.
CJ’s-Chip’s Place 4, Pepsi-The Place 2: At the SUNY Potsdam turf field, Grant Prudhomme opened the scoring for the visiting squad and ended it but not before CJ’s-Chip’s Place reeled off four straight second half goals after going into halftime trailing 1-0.
Mark Misiak tied the game when he finished off a play set up by Ted Cook and Dan Stone. Misiak then broke through for the goal ahead goal off an assist from Tony Betrus before Cook converted from Zac Votra for the eventual game-winner. Sean Lillie closed out the decisive scoring surge off an assist from Misiak.
Ben Steinburg made six saves in the winning effort while Jake Sias turned aside seven shots for Pepsi-The Place.
Cornerstone Services-SeaComm 0, S&L Services 0: Neither team was able to break through at Clarkson’s Hantz Field.
In the other Wednesday night encounters, AMP-Jreck Subs outscored Massena S&L-Kassian Realty 4-3, Lisbon blanked Heuvelton 4-0 and Canton downed Frary Funeral Home 5-2.
AMP-Jreck Subs 4, Massena 3: Ryan Chauvin scored twice in the losing effort and Anthony Cortese converted on a penalty kick while Jeff Slack and Connor Dix each logged solo assists and Alan Davis made 16 saves.
Lisbon 4, Heuvelton 0: Donnie Wilhelm (1 assist) and Ryan Mason scored two goals apiece in the winning effort while Scott Wilhelm was credited with two saves backstopping the shutout.
Canton 5, Frary 2: Alex Minsker scored twice while Travis Jordan Colby Young and Nate Butler netted singletons for Canton. Austin Lamay had five stops in the win.
