Hello, Lake Street Comeback Kids.

Hosmer’s knocked off regular season champion Nig’s Tavern in the second round of the Double-Elimination See-Way Slo-Pitch Softball Tournament on Thursday scoring eight runs in the top of the seventh inning down 9-2 for a 10-9 victory reaching the A Championship against Ogdensburg Bowl I.

Ogdensburg Bowl I edged Club 1812 4-3 also on Thursday.

Nig’s is still alive but will need five straight wins to be crowned champion.

The playoff tournament begins with B Division playbacks on Saturday morning as Murray’s and Buster’s playing off at 8:45 a.m.

Hosmer’s 10, Nig’s Tavern 9: A eight run seventh climaxed when John Stevenson singled to make it 9-8 and Matt Blackmer singled for a 10-9 lead. Darin King produced a two run triple in the inning and subfked, Drew Thornhill lined two triples and a single, Logan Ladoceur connected for two singles and a double and Ray Biller smacked three singles. Rob Powers and Josh Barkley also added two timely hits.

Nig’s Tavern scored five runs in the fifth inning for a 9-2 lead led by Bill Durham’s four singles and a double and two singles from Don McCarthy. Ryan Joanette added a triple and two singles.

Ogdensburg Bowl 4, Club 1812 3: Taylor Armstrong lined a double and a single and scored the game winning run in the fifth inning on a single from Greg Denner. Blair Davis added a double and a single while Ryan Bouchey added two singles.

Chad TenEyck supplied a double and a single and Gary Robinson, Josh Ladouceur each singled twice for Club 1812.
