SYRACUSE — The Syracuse men’s basketball team will host long-time rival St. John’s on Dec. 6 in the Carrier Dome.
The game is the second of a home-and-home series announced prior to last season.
Syracuse and St. John’s, both original members of the Big East Conference, have squared off in men’s basketball 88 times, with SU holding a 51-37 advantage. The Red Storm is the seventh-most familiar foe in Orange hoop history.
The Orange has won the last nine meetings with the Red Storm, including a 68-63 victory at Madison Square Garden last season.
St. John’s earned an NIT berth a year ago and finished with a 20-13 record. Steve Lavin enters his fifth season as head coach.
