Joe Brenno never tossed a no hitter in grasshopper or scholastic baseball but on Tuesday his Nig’s Tavern defense backed him up in a 19-0 shutout no-hitter over Murray’s Food Store allowing just two runners aboard in Seaway Slow-Pitch Softball action playing after his father-in-law recently passed away.

Bill Durham crushed a homerun and three doubles, Dean Washburn connected for a long homerun and twop doubles and Ken Stull stroked two doubles and a single leading Nig’s. Joe Brenno had three hits.

Nig’s followed the no-hitter with a 32-25 win over Ogdensburg Bowl to wrap up a regular season 15-3 title. Ogdensburg Bowl posted a 13-9 win over Buster’s in the other game.

Nig’s 32, Ogdensburg Bowl 25: Bill Durham belted a triple, a oair of doubles and two singles, Ken Stull smacked a homerun, a double and a single, Don McCarthy connected for two triples, two singles and a double and Justin Martel added a double and three singles leading Nig’s Tavern.

Eric Howe belted a homerun, two doubles and a single, Jimmy Samarco lined a triple and two singles, and John Reed and Jesse Joanette each singled three times for Ogdensburg Bowl.

Ogdensburg Bowl 13, Buster’s 9: Josh Crawford collected a triple and two singles and Blair Davis stroked a double and a single leading Ogdensburg Bowl. TJ Jacobs, Mike Ashley each added two timely hits.

Jamie Wallace had a triple and two singles for Buster’s. Paul LaPlante added three singles while Tylor Stevenson added a triple and a single.

Final Standings: Nig’s Tavern 15-3, Club 1812 13-5, Ogdensburg Bowl 12-6, Hosmer’s 10-8, Ogdensburg Bowl II 7-11, Buster’s 4-14, Murray’s Food 2-16.
