GOUVERNEUR — St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies charged Kenneth L. Streeter, 54, of 551 Route 11, with driving while intoxicated on July 13. He also was charged with resisting arrest and failure to keep right after a traffic stop.
Deputies allege that at 2:50 a.m. on East Main Street in the village, Mr. Streeter crossed over into the opposite lane. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent, they said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication.
Deputies said that when they took out handcuffs to arrest Mr. Streeter, he attempted to flee the scene, refused to cooperate with police and fought being handcuffed. Deputies were assisted on the scene by village police.
He was issued an appearance ticket for Town Court.
