WATERTOWN — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation of a vehicle accident Monday morning off Route 11 in the town of Watertown in which a Watertown woman was critically injured.
Jaclyn A. Papalski, 25, was driving a 2008 Nissan north on Route 11 with two children, ages 2 and 3, when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree about 8:50 a.m., deputies said. The crash occurred between the cross roads of County Route 64 and Cagwin Road.
Deputies did not disclose the nature of Ms. Papalski’s injuries; the two children were taken by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center, where they were treated for injuries and released.
Ms. Papalski was transported by a LifeNet helicopter to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, deputies said. They provided no further details.
The hospital reported that Ms. Papalski was still in critical condition as of 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by the state police, Town of Watertown Fire Department, Town of Watertown Ambulance Service and Guilfoyle Ambulance Service.
