WATERTOWN — A man was charged with criminal impersonation by city police after he allegedly gave a false name during a traffic stop.

Police said Maurice A. Millsap, 28, of 426 College Heights, Apt. 3, told police a false name and incorrect birthday to avoid officers knowing he was driving with a suspended driver’s license.

He also was cited with aggravated unlicensed driving and driving the wrong way down a one-way street.

Charged at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday on the 100 block of Arsenal Street, Mr. Millsap was released to Fort Drum military police with an appearance ticket for City Court.
