Nation must return to its godly principles

We are certainly living in frightening, perilous times. The Bible tells us: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.” (2 Timothy 3:1-4, KJV)

Jesus also warns us in Matthew 24:6-7: “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”

And in Luke 17:26-30: “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the son of man is revealed.”

Jesus wants to help our nation and come to our rescue and aid. However, because our nation has insisted in taking God out of everything, he will leave us on our own and things will continue to get worse and worse.

“Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the holy one of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.” (Isaiah 1:4)

Our nation was founded on godly principles, and we have strayed far away from them. This is the reason our nation is in such terrible trouble and turmoil.

We must return to God and repent. We must return to that personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is so vital to our very existence today and for eternal life. Then and only then will God hear our prayers and heal our land.
