WATERTOWN _ The city’s hydroelectric plant on Marble Street produced a seven-year high 24,832,078 kilowatt per hours of power during the recently-ended fiscal year.
It was the best year since the 2010-11 budget year when the plant produced 23,999.323 kilowatt per hours.
“It’s a banner year,” Mayor Jeffrey E. Graham said.
In June, 2,555,705 kilowatts per hour were produced as it was a wet month. So far, July also has been a good month for hydro power, Water Superintendent Michael J. Sligar said.
Usually a slow month for hydro power, two of the plant’s three generators have been running. Some summers, there are times when none of of the generators are used.
