WATERTOWN — A drug bust in the city Tuesday afternoon netted narcotics with an estimated street value of $4,340 and more than $1,900 in cash and led to the arrest of two people, according to the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force.
Task Force and state police C-Net unit investigators raided an upstairs apartment at 522 Waite Ave. and charged Paige H.A. Johnson, 26, of Watertown, and Jermele S. Halstion, 34, of Syracuse, each with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Investigators — assisted by city police’s Entry Team and ID Unit and members of Jefferson County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, or SERT — said they seized 64 bags of heroin, 23 knotted wraps and 4.4 grams of crack cocaine from a bedroom in the apartment.
Watertown City Court Judge Eugene R. Renzi signed the search warrant, which specifically described that particular bedroom, according to a news release.
Ms. Johnson and Mr. Halstion, both convicted felons, were arraigned Tuesday in Watertown City Court and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building without bail.
