WATERTOWN — A Natural Bridge man was sentenced Thursday in Jefferson County Court to three years’ probation after successfully completing Drug Court.
William A. Carroll, 28, of 43530 Strong Road, had May 2013 convictions for felony driving while intoxicated and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle vacated for finishing the substance abuse rehabilitation program that is designed to serve as an alternative to incarceration. He then was allowed to plead guilty to DWI as a misdemeanor and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
He had been accused of felony DWI and of driving while his license was suspended or revoked in April 2013 on Lime Street in the town of Wilna. In addition to the probation sentence, he was fined $1,00, had his driver’s license revoked and was ordered to install an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he owns or operates. He also completed 60 days of community service.
