State Sen. Elizabeth O’C. “Betty” Little, R-Queensbury, will not be making an endorsement in the Republican primary race for the 21st Congressional District.
“I don’t make any endorsements in primaries,” Mrs. Little. “I never have. Whoever the person is who wins I’ll work with them.”
The primary election is between Elise M. Stefanik, Willsboro, and Matthew A. Doheny, Watertown.
Mr. Doheny announced Thursday that he has been endorsed by state Sens. Patricia A. Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, and Joseph A. Griffo, R-Rome.
Ms. Stefanik was endorsed by Maggie’s List, a PAC that is focused on electing conservative women to federal office, on the same day. She has also been endorsed by former GOP presidential and vice-presidential nominees Gov. Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis.
The primary election is on Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m.
Ms. Stefanik has been endorsed by the New York state Conservative Party and Mr. Doheny by the state Independence Party. Regardless of who wins the primary, both candidates will be on the ballot on their respective minor party lines in November.
They will face Democratic candidate Aaron G. Woolf and Green Party candidate Matthew J. Funiciello.
