EVANS MILLS — The annual Evans Mills Primary Flag Day Ceremony and parade will be held Friday morning.
“It’s a community affair,” said Principal Pamela Knight. “It’s always really nice to see patriotism come together in our community along with the Fort Drum community.”
The daylong festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. with a parade of students decked out in red, white and blue attire, along with members of the fire department and the Fort Drum Color Guard. The parade will start on South Main Street, proceed up Peck Street and return back to the school’s main entrance.
Following the parade, military parents are invited to participate in a flag-raising ceremony.
The day will conclude with a carnival from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Ms. Knight said there will be a bounce house, dunking booth, games, cotton candy and snow cone vendors, face painting and possibly a petting zoo.
Ms. Knight said event times and locations are based on weather conditions.
