BRASHER FALLS — Lindsey Thayer struck out 11 to lead the St. Lawrence Central softball team to a 17-2 win over Madrid-Waddington, clinching the Northern Athletic Conference East Division championship for the Larries on Thursday.

Thayer also went 4-for-5, including a two-run home run for the Larries (15-0 overall, 12-0 division).

Hailee Weegar went 3-for-4 and Haleigh Agans, Riley Barton, Melanie Richards and Jenna Thompson each picked up two hits.

Blake Orosz went 2-for-3, including a two-run home run for the Yellowjackets (4-7).

COLTON-PIERREPONT 10, CHATEAUGAY 3

Sabrina Johnson struck out 12 to lead Colton-Pierrepont (9-3) past the Bulldogs in an East Division game in Chateaugay.

Andrea Aldous and Eve Whalen led the Colts with two-hit games, while Rachael Young and Brianna Cook each had two hits for the Bulldogs (7-5, 7-4).

HEUVELTON 29, HERMON-DEKALB 0

Rachel Thornhill hit a grand slam and Alexis Sawyer added four hits, including a home run, to lead Heuvelton past the Demons (3-8, 3-6) in a West Division game in DeKalb Junction.

Paige McCormick threw a five-inning no-hitter for the Bulldogs (14-0, 12-0), striking out 12. She also went 3-for-3.

Logan Tallman went 4-for-4. Alexis Weidner and Hannah Thornhill each went 3-for-4, and Nathalie Barr and Kristi Donnelly added two hits.

EDWARDS-KNOX 13-36, CLIFTON-FINE 10-4

Mackenzie Hall homered in each game of a West Division doubleheader, including a grand slam in the opener, to lead the Cougars past Clifton-Fine (0-13) in Star Lake.

Makayla Bacon homered twice for Edwards-Knox (7-4) in the second game.

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 7, CANTON 0

Emily O’Connor struck out 15 to send the Panthers past the Golden Bears (5-5) in a Central Division game in Brushton.

Kenzie Traynor, Mika Uehara and Melissa Cox each lined two hits for Brushton-Moira (10-2, 9-2).

MALONE 15, POTSDAM 0

Morgan Fountain went 2-for-2, including a three-run homer, to lead the Huskies past Potsdam (0-10) in a Central Division contest in Malone.

Whitney Legacy, Erin McDonald, Katie Lamica and Alissa McCauley each produced two hits for Malone (12-2, 10-0).

BASEBALL

POTSDAM 5, MALONE 4

A three-run rally in the sixth inning helped Potsdam come back from a 4-2 hole against the Huskies (6-6, 5-4) to claim a Central Division win in Malone.

The Sandstoners (10-1, 10-0) took advantage of two wild pitches and a passed ball as well as an RBI single by Nate Gringrich.

GOUVERNEUR 11, CANTON 10

Shawn McEathron led off the bottom of the seventh with a home run to give the Wildcats (2-8) a Central Division win over Canton in Gouverneur.

McEathron finished 3-for-4 for Gouverneur, and Dan Mullin went 4-for-5. Jake Corbine went 4-for-4 to lead Canton (2-8).

ST. LAWRENCE 6, MADRID-WADDINGTON 5

Chris Tabor struck out eight and Hadyn St. Hilaire produced three hits, including a home run, to lead the Larries (7-5) past Madrid-Waddington in an East Division game in Brasher Falls.

Harrison VanBuren homered for the Yellowjackets (6-3).

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 16, ST. REGIS FALLS 7

Mike Burns struck out seven as the Panthers defeated St. Regis Falls (1-7) in an East Division game in Parishville.

Anthony Pullano went 3-for-5 for the Panthers (4-6).

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 16, CHATEAUGAY 0

Alex Burnett struck out 11 as Brushton-Moira defeated the Bulldogs (1-10) in an East Division game in Chateaugay.

Jake St. Mary homered for the Panthers (8-1). Adam Martin, Ricky Collette, Alex Burnett, Zach Burnett and Bryan Aubrey each lined two hits.

BOYS LACROSSE

POTSDAM 12, COLTON-PIERREPONT 2

Max Warden scored four goals to lift Potsdam past the Colts (0-12) in South Colton.

Josh Sanchez and Corson Green each scored twice for Potsdam (4-10). Sam Warden and Billy Bergan scored one goal with one assist and John Burkum also scored.

John Angleberger and Scott Boyce scored for the Colts.

GIRLS LACROSSE

POTSDAM 12, SALMON RIVER 4

Annette Rishe scored four goals with three assists to lead Potsdam past the Shamrocks (2-10) in Fort Covington.

Kalie Grant scored three goals and Kiona Loran and Hannah Drechsel each added two for the Sandstoners (12-3, 10-2).

Kyra Thompson scored twice for Salmon River and Jillian Benedict and Kianna Thompson added goals.
