WATERTOWN A bomb threat phoned into WWNY TV-7 just before 3 p.m. Tuesday prompted the evacuation of its Arcade Street building.
7 News Director Scott D. Atkinson said a caller told a secretary who answered the phone that the station was about to be bombed. He said the building was immediately evacuated as a precautionary measure.
City police blocked off Arcade Street and a portion of Stone Street. City firefighters also were at the scene, as were Jefferson County sheriffs deputies.
Nothing was found and employees were let back in the building after 90 minutes, WWNY TV-7 reported.
