CANTON — John F. Richey, principal court attorney for St. Lawrence County Surrogate and acting Supreme Court Judge Kathleen M. Rogers, will hold a news conference Thursday in the Golf Conference Room of the Best Western, Canton.

With Judge Rogers retiring May 30, it is anticipated that Mr. Richey will be announcing his candidacy for Surrogate Court judge.

The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Richey has served as Judge Rogers’s principal court attorney for the past 25 years. He also served for 10 years as Massena town judge and Massena acting village judge.

He is a past president of the St. Lawrence County Bar Association and the St. Lawrence County Magistrates Association.
