Warren quiets Clarkson in league tournament

LOUDONVILLE — Dan Warren held the Clarkson University baseball team to just two hits in eight innings as the second-seeded University of Rochester Yellowjackets defeated the No. 3 Golden Knights 5-2 in the opening game of the Liberty League Tournament on Thursday at Siena College.

The Golden Knights (19-12) will face No. 4 Vassar College, an 8-1 loser to top-seeded and host Union, in an elimination game at 9:30 a.m. today. If Clarkson wins it will face Union or Rochester in another elimination game at 5 p.m.

Nate Mulberg went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs for Rochester (24-14), and Josh Ludwig drove in two runs for the Yellowjackets.

John Coleman and Matt Jenack singled for Clarkson.
