CANTON — Devin Robson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the St. Lawrence University baseball team a 5-3 victory over Ithaca College in a nonconference game on Thursday, breaking a long losing streak against the Bombers.

The game was tied 3-3 when Robson homered for the Saints (17-12), who had lost 26 games in a row to Ithaca dating back to 1996.

Bryan Palermo went 2-for-4 for SLU.

John Stanley went 2-for-5 forthe Bombers (26-9).

2 SAINTS CAPTURE TITLES

Two St. Lawrence University riders Mackenzie Alderman and Emily D’Alessandro won individual national titles during the first day of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association national championship in Harrisburg, Pa.

SLU is in sixth place in the team standings after the first day.

Alderman won the title in intermediate equitation on the flat and D’Alessandro was the champion in intermediate on the flat.
