COPENHAGEN — Winning pitcher Brooke Spaulding singled in Nicole Gardner with two outs in the bottom of ninth inning to lift Copenhagen’s softball team to a 3-2 victory over Thousand Islands on Friday in an interdivisional game in the Frontier League.

Spaulding, who finished with three singles, also struck out 14 in tossing a four-hitter in a complete-game effort for the Golden Knights (3-0).

Drew Baker singled twice and drove in a run for Copenhagen.

Heather Robinson doubled and singled for the Vikings (1-2).

ALEXANDRIA 8-5, SACKETS HARBOR 2-2

Molly Aznoe won her first two varsity starts as the Purple Ghosts swept a “D” Division doubleheader from the Patriots in Alexandria Bay.

Amanda Lingenfelter went 2-for-3 with three RBI in game one for Alexandria (2-1).

Jamie Lynn Mendelson singled twice in game one and doubled in the nightcap for Sackets Harbor (0-4).

IHC 14-9, CARTHAGE 1-6

Miranda Kolb and Emma Renzi each drove in four runs in a game one as the host Cavaliers earned an “A” Division sweep of the Comets.

Kolb also drove in a pair of runs in the nightcap and Anna Garrabrant plated three runs for Immaculate Heart Central (4-0, 2-0).

Whitney Grover tripled twice for Carthage (0-3) in game two.

SANDY CREEK 17, LAFARGEVILLE 6

Shania Darling doubled in three runs and winning pitcher Michaela Martin singled twice and drove in three runs to pace the unbeaten Comets (4-0) to an interdivisional victory in LaFargeville.

Amber Klock homered and singled for the Red Knights (2-1) and Logan Labiendo doubled and singled.

BEAVER RIVER 11, LYME 4

Sidney Hawksley went 4-for-5, including a triple and a double, and drove in three runs to propel the Beavers to a division crossover victory in Chaumont.

Morgan Moore doubled, singled twice and knocked in four runs for Beaver River (2-2).

Taylor Brown tripled, singled and drove in a run for the Indians (0-3).

SOUTH LEWIS 18, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 8

Winning pitcher Marissa Brown went 4-for-6 and drove in two runs to help power the Falcons to a crossover victory at Belleville.

Drianna Crofoot was 3-for-4 with two RBI and four runs scored, and Olivia Fitzgerald delivered a run-scoring triple for South Lewis (2-1).

Ashley Hodge was 2-for-3 with two RBI for Belleville Henderson (0-2).

BASEBALL

IHC 7, CARTHAGE 3

Jude Fusilli drove in two runs on two hits to help power the Cavaliers to an “A” Division victory at Carthage.

Jake Fusilli pitched all but one out of the seventh inning for the win. He left the game in the seventh after taking a line drive to his wrist. Vincenzo Alteri added two hits for IHC (5-1, 2-0), which scored five runs in the seventh inning.

Denny Montanez smacked a two-run single in the sixth that put the Comets ahead 3-2. Dylan James finished with two hits for Carthage (0-5, 0-4).

WATERTOWN 10, GENERAL BROWN 3

Collin Jorden’s three-run triple sparked the host Cyclones to a crossover victory at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Winning pitcher Kenny Schimpf struck out nine over six innings and gave up three earned runs, and Jarrod Bellinger added two RBI for Watertown (5-2, 3-0).

Thomas Gerstenschlager drove in two runs on a double, and Alex Carpenter added an RBI for General Brown (2-2).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 10, COPENHAGEN 7

Winning pitcher Austin Bach singled twice and drove in two runs and Chase Boyer tripled in a run and singled to pace the Vikings to a division crossover victory at Copenhagen.

Travis Docteur chipped in two singles for Thousand Islands (3-0).

Antonio Figueroa doubled, singled and drove in three runs for the Golden Knights (2-1).

SANDY CREEK 8, LAFARGEVILLE 5

Zac Akey was a home run shy of the cycle as the Comets outlasted the Red Knights for a crossover win in LaFargeville.

Reis Harding generated three hits, including a triple, for Sandy Creek (3-3).

Kelly Ryan singled and doubled for LaFargeville (0-3).

SOUTH LEWIS 8, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 3

Lucas Kelly belted a solo home run as the Falcons topped the Panthers for a crossover win in Belleville.

Wyatt Marolf pitched a complete-game six-hitter for South Lewis (4-0).

Tom Desormeau slapped two singles for Belleville Henderson (1-1).

BEAVER RIVER 15, LYME 0

Brett Neddo struck out 10 in a four-hit complete-game shutout as the Beavers blanked the Indians in a crossover game at Chaumont.

Troy Purcell doubled for Beaver River (2-2).

Caden Sanford produced three singles for Lyme (0-2).

BOYS LACROSSE

WATERTOWN 16, GENERAL BROWN 9

Eric Soderquist tallied seven goals as the host Cyclones used a six-goal second quarter to beat the Lions in crossover play.

Brad McKinney and Noah Taylor each added three goals for Watertown (6-2, 5-1).

Cole Johnson scored four goals to pace General Brown (5-4, 4-2).

GIRLS LACROSSE

CARTHAGE 15, INDIAN RIVER 3

Mackenzie Kidder scored six goals to propel the Comets past the Warriors to a Frontier League victory in Philadelphia.

Alexis Smith tallied two goals for Carthage (7-3, 2-3) and Peyton Romig assisted on two goals.

Rebecca Monica made 13 saves for Indian River (1-4, 0-4).

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

FRANKLIN BOOSTS WARRIORS

Elijah Franklin contributed to first-place finishes in the high jump, triple jump and long jump relays to highlight Indian River performances at the Cook-DeStefano Relays in Utica.

Indian River scored 110 points to finish third in the team standings, while New Hartford was the top team with 138 points.
