MASSENA The Canton boys lacrosse team rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Massena 7-6 in a Northern Athletic Conference game on Thursday.
Massena (3-2 overall and division) led 6-4 before Canton scored the final three goals of the contest.
Cody Moore led Canton (4-1, 4-0) with three goals. Garrett Glasgow scored two goals and Isaac Thrasher and Jake Facey each scored one goal.
Nick Henrie scored three goals to lead Massena and Sako Rourke added two. Ross Driscoll also scored for the Red Raiders.
OFA 10, ST. LAWRENCE 8
Andrew Roddy scored five goals to send the Blue Devils (1-2) past St. Lawrence Central in Ogdensburg.
Dave Prudhomme and Austin Putman each scored two goals, and Nate Peo and Taylor Richardson also scored.
Lukas Arquiett and Nick Randall each scored three goals for the Larries (2-2).
MASSENA 17, OFA 3
A six-goal effort from Shannon Casey led the Red Raiders (2-1, 2-0) past OFA in Massena.
Courtney Manley and Ashley Olsen both scored three goals for Massena and Devin Kelly added two goals for the Red Raiders.
Kelsi Donaldson led OFA (1-3, 1-2) with two goals and Mackenzie Bresett also scored.
OFA 5, CANTON 0
Seth Pinkerton struck out 17 and scattered three hits to lead the Blue Devils past Canton in the Central Division opener for both teams in Ogdensburg.
Peyton Lalone singled twice for the Blue Devils. Alex Hayes struck out nine for Canton.
MASSENA 8, GOUVERNEUR 3
Isaiah Dillabough struck out nine to lead the Red Raiders (2-0) past Gouverneur in a Central Division game in Massena.
Bailey Hewlett doubled and drove in a run for the Red Raiders. Pat Manning and Tyler Haas also drove in runs with hits for Massena.
Dan Mullen led Gouverneur (0-1) with two hits.
POTSDAM 14-10, SALMON RIVER 5-0
Will Coleman struck out 11 and lined two hits in the opening game of a Central Division doubleheader, leading the Sandstoners past Salmon River in Potsdam.
Trevor Keller, Andrew Ace, Ben Miller, Morgan Sutcliff and Jacob Kelleher each lined two hits for the Sandstoners.
Ben Miller struck out 10 for Potsdam in game two and lined three hits and drove in three runs. Sutcliff also produced three hits in game two. Coleman went 2-for-2 with three RBI.
Brandon Byington and Tyler Sisto picked up two hits in the opener for the Shamrocks.
HEUVELTON 14, HAMMOND 6
Jack Palmer went 4-for-5 to lead the Bulldogs (1-1, 1-0) past Hammond in a West Division game in Heuvelton.
Colin Trathen struck out 10 and went 2-for-4 for Heuvelton. Dylan Liscum also produced two hits for Heuvelton.
Nick Jewitt produced three hits, including two doubles for the Red Devils (0-1). Collin Martin, Brock Tulley and Payton Frisina all lined two hits for Hammond.
MORRISTOWN 11, EDWARDS-KNOX 6
Zach Kanaly singled twice and Karter VanArnam drove in three runs to lead the Green Rockets past Edwards-Knox in a West Division game in Russell.
Devin Sharlows two hits led the Cougars.
CHATEAUGAY 10, ST. REGIS FALLS 4
Nick Ashline struck out 15 and lined two hits to lead the Bulldogs past St. Regis Falls in the East Division opener for both teams in Chateaugay.
Devin Labare lined four hits, including two doubles, for the Bulldogs. Matt Cummings and Corey LaBounty each produced two hits for the Saints.
MASSENA 10, GOUVERNEUR 0
Amber Thomas threw a no-hitter, striking out eight, as the Red Raiders defeated Gouverneur (0-1) in a Central Division contest in Massena.
Bailey Dillabough socked a three-run double in the fourth inning for Massena (1-1).
OFA 11, CANTON 3
Kalie Downy tallied three hits to lead OFA past the Golden Bears in the Central Division opener for each team in Canton.
Alicia Sharpe, Riley Luckie and Maddie Bresett each lined two hits for OFA. Kali Frank singled twice for Canton.
SALMON RIVER 25-17, POTSDAM 9-2
Sierra White supplied two doubles and two singles in the opener for Salmon River (2-1), and Brittany Brooks supplied three hits in game two as Salmon River swept the Sandstoners in a Central Division doubleheader.
Melanie Taylor fanned seven in the first game and Kera Ghostlaw singled three times.
Kelsi Green had two hits for Potsdam (0-2) in each game.
MALONE 9, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 4
Annie Sharlows three-hitter and five strikeouts help Malone (2-0) beat the Panthers in a Central Division game in Brushton.
Janelle Heden lined three hits for the Huskies. Sharlow, Morgan Fountain and Emily Marshall all tallied two hits for Malone. Emily OConnor struck out nine for Brushton-Moira (2-1, 1-1).
HEUVELTON 12, HAMMOND 2
Alexis Weidner was the winning pitcher and went 3-for-5 to lead the Bulldogs past Hammond (0-1) in a West Division game in Heuvelton.
Logan Tallman, Alexis Sawyer, Hannah Thornhill and Paige McCormick all singled twice for Heuvelton (1-0).
EDWARDS-KNOX 8, MORRISTOWN 5
Katrina Moore led the Cougars (1-0) with two hits in a West Division victory against Morristown in Russell.
Jessica Geddes and Sam Green singled twice for Morristown (0-1).
CHATEAUGAY 9, ST. REGIS FALLS 4
Rachel Young tallied two hits and pitched three innings of relief to lead the Bulldogs (1-1, 1-0) past the Saints in an East Division game at Chateaugay.
Madison Austen struck out seven for the Saints (0-1).
COLTON-PIERREPONT 19, TUPPER LAKE 1
Sabrina Johnson struck out 11 in a two-hitter and belted a two-run triple to lead the Colts past Tupper Lake (0-1) in an East Division game in South Colton.
Eve Whalen led the Colts (2-0) with a triple, home run and single and drove in five runs.
GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
FLYERS TAKE TWO
Arianna Colbert, Breanna Hayes and Kaycie Saucier each won two events to lead Norwood-Norfolk to wins over Potsdam (186-86) and Clifton-Fine (225-25) in a season-opening, double-dual meet in Norwood. Potsdam defeated Clifton-Fine 200-40.
Colbert won the shot put and discus for the Flyers. Hayes won the 400 meters and high jump, and Saucier won the 1,500 and 800.
CANTON STARTS STRONG
Lindsay Proulx and Clare Olin each won three events to lead Canton to a 188-117 win over host Gouverneur and a 184-74 win over Tupper Lake in the opening meet of the season. Gouverneur defeated Tupper Lake 183 1/2-81 1/2.
Proulx won the 100 hurdles, high jump and shot put for Canton. Olin claimed wins in the 100, 200 and long jump. Laura Pierce won the 1,500 and 3,000 meters for Canton.
BOYS TRACK AND FIELD
WILDCATS WIN TWICE
Brayton Dusharm and Luke Dunkleberg each won two events to help host Gouverneur defeat Tupper Lake 175-50 and Canton 125-68 in a double-dual meet. Canton defeated the Lumberjacks 120-75.
Dusharm won the 100 and the long jump, and Dunkleberg won the 200 and 400 for the Wildcats. Evan LaPoint won the discus and high jump for Canton.
Connor Levison and Kyle Fulk each produced two wins as the Flyers beat Potsdam 150-82 and Clifton-Fine 183-19 in a double-dual meet in Norwood. Potsdam beat the Eagles 114-35.
Levison won both the 110 and 400 hurdles. Fulk won the 1,600 and 3,200. Oden Robertson led Potsdam with wins in the 100 and long jump.
