Norwood-Norfolk and Canton Girls swept double dual meets in Northern Athletic Conference Girls Track and Field and Gouverneur and Norwood-Norfolk swept double dual meets in Boys Track and Field on Thursday.

Also, Madrid-Waddington claimed a Boys-Girls sweep over Massena.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

FLYERS TAKE TWO

Arianna Colbert, Breanna Hayes and Kaycie Saucier each won two events to lead Norwood-Norfolk to wins over Potsdam (186-86) and Clifton-Fine (225-25) in a season-opening, double-dual meet in Norwood. Potsdam defeated Clifton-Fine 200-40.

Colbert won the shot put and discus for the Flyers. Hayes won the 400-meters and high jump and Saucier won the 1,500 and 800.

CANTON STARTS STRONG

Lindsay Proulx and Clare Olin each won three events to lead Canton to a 188-117 win over host Gouverneur and a 184-74 win over Tupper Lake. Gouverneur defeated Tupper Lake 183 1/2-81 1/2.

Proulx won the 100 hurdles as well as the high jump and shot put for Canton. Olin claimed wins in the 100, 200 and long jump. Laura Pierce won the 1,500 and 3,000 runs for Canton.

Jackets depth Key

Gabrielle Scott generated three running wins in the 400, 1500, 3000 meters runs leading the Jackets past Massena 179-121. Kelsie Tiernan won the 400 hurdles and long jump and Natalie Boland rolled to wins in the Shot Put and Discus. Taylor Harris (100M) and Kaleigh Field (800M) also won individual events for a Jackets.

Jaclyn Lamica won the 200 meters, 100 hurdles, and high jump for Massena. Allison Dix posted first in the triple jump and second in the long jump.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

WILDCATS WIN TWICE

Brayton Dusharm and Luke Dunkleberg each won two events to help host Gouverneur defeat Tupper Lake 175-50 and Canton 125-68 in a double-dual meet. Canton defeated the Lumberjacks 120-75.

Dusharm won the 100 and the long jump and Dunkleberg won the 200 and 400 for the Wildcats. Evan LaPoint won the discus and high jump for Canton.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK SWEEPS

Connor Levison and Kyle Fulk each produced two wins as the Flyers defeated Potsdam 150-82 and Clifton-Fine 183-19 in a double-dual meet in Norwood. Potsdam defeated the Eagles 114-35.

Levison won both the 110 and 400 hurdles. Fulk won the 1,600 and 3,000. O’den Robertson led Potsdam with wins in the 100 and long jump.

First Place efforts lift Jackets

Tyler Robinson supplied a win in the 3200 and 1600 meters and ran a leg in the winnning 4x800 meter relay, Ian Hawkins threw won the Discus and Shot Put, Brandon O’Neil won the 200 meters and 400 hurdles and was a member of the winning for 4x400 meter relay, and Nick Zelegdon won the 110 hurdles and high jump for Madrid-Waddington’s 146.5-92.5 win.

Conor Maskel won the Triple Jump and helped a 4x100 meter relay win. Josh Reed had a leg in the winning 4x800 meter and posted first in the 800.

Andrew Brush won the 100 meters, long jump, and placed second in the 200 meters for Massena. Brandon Fennell added a win in the 400 meters.
