OSWEGO A strong fourth quarter led the SUNY Potsdam mens lacrosse team to a 10-6 victory over SUNY Oswego in a SUNYAC game Wednesday afternoon.
The Bears (10-4 overall, 4-1 conference) snapped a 5-5 tie after three quarters by outscoring SUNY Oswego 5-1 in the fourth.
Rob Kunz led the Bears with five goals. Ed Doherty and Pat Bonafede each scored two goals, and Joe Hayes also scored for SUNY Potsdam.
Torry Whitcher and Connor Khammar both scored two goals for the Lakers (6-8, 0-5), and Christ Porten and Matt Palmer also scored.
JEFFERSON CC 19, MOHAWK VALLEY CC 1
Morgan OHearn accounted for six goals and two assists to help power the Cannoneers to a decisive victory at Utica.
Jenna Flath finished with three goals and four assists, and Haleigh Flint added three goals and three assists. Victoria Fusco made 12 saves for Jefferson Community College (6-2).
Chelsea Rosenthal scored for Mohawk Valley (0-8).
CLARKSON 5, SUNY CANTON 3
Greg Jasek went 4-for-5, including two doubles, and drove in a run to help Clarkson (13-10) win a nonconference game in Canton.
David Wixted went 3-for-5 for Clarkson, and Paul Ludden was 2-for-3.
Braden Giffin led the Kangaroos (14-15) with a two-hit effort.
ST. LAWRENCE 11, SUNY PLATTSBURGH 7
St. Lawrence (14-12) led 6-0 by the end of the top of the fourth inning and held on to defeat the Cardinals in a nonconference game in Plattsburgh.
Mark Syron and Brian Magovney each produced three-hit games for the Saints. Chris Fernandez added two hits for SLU.
Brian Latulipe, Luke Weaver and Manny Boccini each produced two hits for SUNY Plattsburgh (10-20).
ALFRED STATE 11-6, CLARKSON 4-8
Jamie Bridge struck out nine and went 2-for-2 in the second game of a nonconference doubleheader in Alfred to help Clarkson (6-21) produce a split.
Katie Pelton also picked up two hits for Clarkson in game two, as well as producing a two-hit game in the opener. Ali Schwenzfeier and Kat Tamburro also tallied two hits in game one for Clarkson.
Stormi Kruger and Renee Stanford led the Pioneers (9-13) with two-hit games in the opener, and Katie Jackson went 3-for-3 for Alfred State in game two.
SUNY PLATTSBURGH 3-6, ST. LAWRENCE 2-7
Natasha Bell scored the winning run when Rebecca Allen drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Saints (10-18) split a nonconference doubleheader with SUNY Plattsburgh in Canton.
Aisha OConnor went 3-for-3 for SLU in game two and Hannah Sears, Bell and Kelly Burke all produced two hits. Former Malone standout Brittany Marshall went 2-for-2 for the Cardinals (7-21) in the opener.
