Brimmer steps in to lead General Brown victory

DEXTER — Alex Brimmer came through with a pinch-hit, two-run single in the sixth inning to lift General Brown to a 4-3 victory over Indian River in a Frontier League baseball crossover game on Wednesday.

Brimmer’s single came with two outs and the bases loaded and the Lions trailing 3-2. His hit scored Mark Corey and Tom Gerstenschlager.

Sean Shepard surrendered just three hits and struck out seven in a complete game victory for General Brown (1-1).

Edward Malinoski doubled and William Eichner drove in a run for the Warriors (0-1).

LOWVILLE 7, SOUTH JEFFERSON 3

Jake McConaghy tripled and knocked in a run in separate at-bats, and the Red Raiders rode a seven-run fifth inning to a “B” Division victory at Adams.

Brian O’Connor added a double and an RBI for Lowville (2-1).

Logan LaFlamme ripped a solo home run, and Hunter Gillette singled three times for South Jefferson (2-1).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 11, ALEXANDRIA 2

Dylan Wiley tallied 12 strikeouts and walked none in a complete game to lead the Vikings to a crossover victory over the Purple Ghosts in Alexandria Bay.

Christian Shaw went 2-for-3 to pace Thousand Islands (2-0).

Josh Tebo tallied a pair of hits for Alexandria (0-1).

SANDY CREEK 5, SACKETS HARBOR 0

Tyler Doe delivered 12 strikeouts and gave up just one hit and one walk in a complete game shutout, carrying the Comets past the Patriots (0-1) in a crossover game at Sackets Harbor.

Reis Harding and Jarod Williams each doubled for Sandy Creek (2-3).

COPENHAGEN 9, BEAVER RIVER 7

Nathan Freeman drove in two runs to help spark the Golden Knights (2-0) to a Frontier League crossover victory at Copenhagen.

Erik Lyndaker finished with two hits, including a solo home run, and Daniel Erker added a pair of hits, including a double, for the Beavers(1-2).

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 13, LAFARGEVILLE 5

Tyler David went 4-for-5, and Colton Ramsdell struck out 12 in a complete game to power the Panthers to a “D” Division victory over the host Red Knights in the season opener for both teams.

Tyler Bast, Tom Desormeau and Trevor Contryman added two hits apiece for Belleville Henderson.

Ethan Johnson finished 2-for-4 for LaFargeville.

SOUTH LEWIS 13, LYME 0

Tristen Bauer struck out 11 in a complete game as the Falcons earned a crossover victory at Chaumont.

Jason Martin drove in two runs on two hits, and Jake Vanbeber added two hits and an RBI for South Lewis (3-0).

HARRISVILLE 22, HERMON-DEKALB 2

Chris Sullivan went 4-for-5, including three doubles, and drove in three runs to send the Pirates past the Demons in a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game in Harrisville.

Justin Hartle struck out seven for the Pirates and went 3-for-4, driving in four runs. Jared Dreythaler went 4-for-6 and drove in four runs.

Tim Fowler, Nate Weaver and Justin Brackett each lined two hits for the Pirates.
