CANTON — Jordan Podkladek slapped a game-winning single in the seventh inning to plate Jessica Rhodes as the SUNY Canton softball team took game one, 4-3, en route to a nonconference split with Clarkson on Monday afternoon.

Shannon Cole doubled and drove in a run in the first game for the Kangaroos (6-17). Kaylin Switzer added a pair of hits for SUNY Canton.

In the nightcap, Ali Schwenzfeier’s two-run single in the seventh helped the Golden Knights win, 4-2.

Jamie Bridge provided three hits and struck out 14 for Clarkson (5-21).

ELMIRA 1-1, ST. LAWRENCE 0-4

Cailyn Welsh belted a solo home run and had a sacrifice fly as the Saints took game two for a nonconference split against the Soaring Eagles in Elmira.

Rebecca Allen and Leslie Stratton each ripped RBI doubles during a three-run eighth inning for St. Lawrence (9-17).

Megan Anderson laced a walk-off single in the first game for Elmira (8-12).

SUNY CORTLAND 8-1, SUNY POTSDAM 0-0

The Red Dragons used a six-run third inning in game one as they blanked the Bears for a SUNYAC doubleheader sweep in Cortland.

Sarah Salamone tossed a four-hit complete-game shutout in game two for SUNY Cortland (21-13, 12-4).

Megan Briner gave two hits and a run in the nightcap for SUNY Potsdam (4-20, 3-9).

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

MONROE CC 15, JEFFERSON CC 5

Gabby Farina and Brianna Everson each generated four goals to help fuel the Tribunes to victory over the Cannoneers at Dexter.

Michelle Schwartz added three goals for Monroe CC (11-0). Jenna Flath scored three times for JCC (5-2).
