WATERTOWN — Jefferson County Sheriff John P. Burns warns those near the Black River to use “extreme caution” because of flooding.

He said the department has received complaints from pedestrians and those parking cars along the river in the Glen Park area.

Sheriff Burns urged those near the river to be mindful of the high water, especially when parking on the side of the road.

The Black River is at about 13 feet, well above flood stage, according to the National Weather Service.
