CANTON — Tressa Goolden scored five goals as the SUNY Canton women’s lacrosse team held off Elmira for a 14-13 nonconference victory Sunday afternoon.

Robyn Carroll registered five points, including three goals, while Keeley Rice tallied two goals and two assists for the Kangaroos (7-4 overall), who have won five straight.

Moorea Spoljaric and Ashton Hogan each scored five goals for the Soaring Eagles (4-8).

BASEBALL

ST. LAWRENCE 4-7, CLARKSON 3-2

Khifer O’Connor homered and drove in three runs as the Saints completed a four-game weekend Liberty League sweep of the Golden Knights in Saratoga Springs.

Devin Robson generated three RBIs, and Zane Fish belted a solo-home run in the nightcap for St. Lawrence (10-7, 6-3).

David Wixted clubbed a home run in game two for Clarkson (7-9, 3-5).

SOFTBALL

RENSSELAER 6-5, ST. LAWRENCE 1-3

Taylor Ten Eyck and Jena Servidone each doubled in the eighth as the Engineers took game two to sweep a Liberty League doubleheader against the Saints in Troy.

Tori Hunt tripled twice in the first game for Rensselaer (12-8, 3-1).

Carly Dziekan slapped a two-run single in game two for St. Lawrence (5-13, 0-6).

RIT 13-2, CLARKSON 1-1

The Tigers used an eight-run first inning in the first game as they eventually swept the Golden Knights in a Liberty League doubleheader in Rochester.

Alexa Farner drove in four runs in the opening game for Rochester Institute of Technology (3-13, 2-2)

Jamie Bridge struck out 13 in the second game for Clarkson (0-18, 0-4).

BUFFALO STATE 7-6, SUNY POTSDAM 1-3

Joanna Bardak combined for five hits and four RBIs as the Bengals swept the Bears in a SUNYAC doubleheader at Buffalo.

Stephanie Novo plated three runs in game one for Buffalo State (12-8, 6-2).

Katie Marsman and Alexis Lerman each homered in game two for SUNY Potsdam (1-13, 1-3).

ALFRED STATE 10-2, SUNY CANTON 0-0

Taylor McCarthy and Ashlynn Nickerson each hurled shutouts as the Pioneers swept a doubleheader from the Kangaroos in Alfred.

McCarthy surrendered only two hits, while Nickerson gave up three for Alfred State (8-10).

Shannon Dowling doubled in the nightcap for SUNY Canton (4-11).

TRACK AND FIELD

BISWAL EXTENDS SLU RECORD

St. Lawrence’s Divya Biswal improved her school record in the triple jump at the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pa.

Biswal registered a jump of 12.19 meters and finished 10th in the 100-meter hurdles. The Saints’ 1,600 relay of Marisa Turner, Hannah Kinsey, Mason and Carly Stine finished fourth.

In the men’s event, SLU’s 400 relay of Adrian Wilson, Omaru Kabia, Shawn Lillie and Karim Creary finished third with a time of 42.52. The 1,600 relay of Wilson, Harrison Sloan, Evan Garvey and Chris Payton took ninth.

MEN’S GOLF

SLU’S WHELAN 6TH at NYU

Jack Whelan fired a second-round 75 to earn sixth place at the NYU Spring Invitational in Purchase.

Whelan’s two-day total of 147 helped St. Lawrence to a seventh-place finish. Tyler Cline of Clarkson finished tied for 14th to helped the Golden Knights place 10th.

Grant Raffel of Williams won the individual crown to help the Ephs win the team competition.

WOMEN’S GOLF

SAINTS FINISH 8TH AT VASSAR

Kelly Hale shot a day-two 79 as St. Lawrence finished eighth at the Vassar Invitational in Poughkeepsie.

Claire O’Neil finished tied for 21st for the Saints. Sharon Li of Ithaca and Rebecca Studin of SUNY Cortland finished tied for first.

Williams won the team competition.

MEN’S TENNIS

HOBART 6, ST. LAWRENCE 3

Michael Fields and Danny Kot each won a singles and a doubles match as the Statesmen (9-8) topped the Saints in a Liberty League match at Canton.

John Megas won a singles and a doubles match for St. Lawrence (8-8).

WOMEN’S TENNIS

ST. LAWRENCE 7, WILLIAM SMITH 2

Elkie Vandenbeemt, Morgan McNeal and Hallie Young each won their singles and doubles matches as the Saints downed the Herons (10-4) in a Liberty League match at Geneva.

Olivia Arroyo and Anna Young also won singles matches for St. Lawrence (15-3, 3-2).
