Jasmine Canady and Alyssa Crosby of Jefferson Community College were each named to the NJCAA Division III All-American womens basketball team on Thursday.
Canady, a sophomore guard, was selected for the second team and Crosby, a freshman forward, received honorable mention.
Canady averaged 20.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 4.4 steals per game. The Spring Lake, N.C., native was previously named the Region 3 and Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Canady finished her two-year career with 1,096 points, ranking second in program history behind 1993 graduate Jen Podvin (1,245). She will play for Division III Methodist University of Fayetteville, N.C., next season. Methodist, a member of the USA South Atlantic Conference, went 16-11 last season.
Crosby, a Brier Hill native and 2013 graduate of Hammond, averaged 19.1 points and 11 rebounds per game. She posted 17 double-doubles in 27 games.
The Cannoneers (20-7 overall, 11-3 Mid-State) advanced to the Region 3 Tournament for the first time since 2005-06.
