OGDENSBURG Victor P. Green, 33, of 512 Hasbrouck St., was charged by city police with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, a class D felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, on Friday.
Police said the arrest followed an investigation by city police and St. Lawrence County Child Protective Services at Mr. Greens residence Thursday.
During the investigation, officers notified members of the Ogdensburg Police Departments Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force because they believed methamphetamine was being manufactured in the home, police said in a news release.
After obtaining a search warrant, police said the materials they found and the condition of the lab were dangerous enough for them to call the state police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team.
Mr. Green is being held at St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond and is scheduled to reappear in City Court.
