DAYTON, Ohio — Ahmed Mafhouz had a hand in all of Dayton’s goals, scoring three and assisting on two others, as the Demonz defeated the Watertown Privateers 5-1 Friday night at Hara Arena to eliminate the Privateers in a Federal Hockey League first round playoff series.

Jared Hicks had a goal and two assists for Dayton, which won the series 2-1 to advance to the league’s championship series against first-place Danbury.

Dayton scored the game’s first four goals — all in the first period.

Britt Ouellette scored the lone goal for the Privateers. Nick Niedert surrendered five goals on 42 shots for Watertown.
