HACKENSACK, N.J. - The St. Lawrence Thunder bounced back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits in the Tier II 14U semi-finals, but a powerplay goal with 2:01 left in the game proved to be the difference in a 4-3 loss to the USA Eagles.

The Thunder trailed 2-0 when Joshua Sanchez (1g-1a) cut a 2-0 Eagles’ lead in half at the 16:28 mark of the second period. Nathaniel Bressard tied the game with 1:11 left in the period.

The Eagles regained the lead in the third period before Corson Green (1g - 2a) scored an equalizer at the 12:47 mark.

Grant Van Buren had 44 saves for the Thunder on a night when the Massena-based team fire 45 shots on the Eagles net.

The Thunder had been the silver medalists in the past two national title games.
