HERKIMER — Freshman Shavict Lora delivered a two-out, two-strike, bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Jefferson Community College baseball team a 5-3 Region 3 win over Herkimer County Community College in the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday.

Lora finished with two hits, as did T.J. Montalbano for the Cannoneers (5-6 overall, 1-1 Region III), playing their first game since March 16. Sophomore left-hander Eury Villalona won his third game of the season for JCC, pitching a strong six innings. Watertown’s Kyle Simmons pitched the seventh to earn the save.

The Generals (9-5, 1-1) won the first game 17-0 behind Michael DiCarlo’s three-hit pitching. A J. Fabrizio went 2-for-3 with a home run for Herkimer County CC.
