WATERTOWN No injuries were reported at a residential roof collapse in the city tonight.
Watertown city firefighters were called to 140 Palmer St. at approximately 5 p.m., where the roof of the one-story home had caved in under the weight of snow.
A witness on the scene said the residents were inside at the time and aware of the impending collapse, as roof rafters had begun shifting into the home earlier in the day.
The 1,027-square-foot home is owned by Mary Jo DeBovis, according to city tax records.
Guilfoyle Ambulance squad also responded to the scene, but did not treat any individuals.
Firefighters removed the family from the home shortly after their arrival on scene. Red Cross will be aiding the residents.
