BROWNVILLEState police said a Brownville man assaulted a girl under 16 years of age at his residence and then threatened a witness to the crime.
Gregg A. Pietramala, 23, of 17102 County Route 53, was charged with assaulting the girl at his residence March 13. Because of the nature of the case, police did not give the identity of the girl.
He was charged with third-degree intimidating a witness or victim, a felony, third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment.
He was arrested at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the state police barracks in Pamelia and arraigned in Brownville Town Court. Following his arraignment, he was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held on $1,000 bail.
