The Watertown Family Y and the United Way of Northern New York are hosting a summer food drive until June 30.
Suggested items include fruit cups, unsweetened apple sauce, canned fruit, dried fruit, juice boxes, canned vegetables, tomato sauce and canned soups. Other requests include cereal, oatmeal, granola bars, brown rice, whole-grain bread, whole-wheat tortillas, whole-grain pasta, crackers, canned tuna/fish/chicken, peanut butter, protein bars, nuts/sunflower seeds, dry canned beans or peas and shelf-stable milk or milk alternatives.
Both agencies have set a collective goal of 10,000 items, which may be dropped off at the Downtown Y, 119 Washington St.; The Fairgrounds Y, 585 Rand Drive; or the Carthage Y, 250 State St., Carthage.
