LOWVILLE The Northern New York Community Foundation is accepting applications for the third round of George R. Davis Fund grants.
About $10,000 per year is available through the fund for projects and programs benefitting the village and town of Lowville. The fund was created through a bequest from the estate of George R. Davis.
Mr. Davis, who died in February 2010 at age 91, served as Lewis County judge for 20 years and Lowville town historian for 18 years.
Applications will be accepted through April 18.
After applications are screened by a local committee, grants will be awarded by the foundation board over the summer.
Last year, nine proposals were received, and grants were awarded in June to four entities.
