The Canton Central Girls Indoor Track-Field team has added to its resume as the one of strongest ever assembled in Section 10.

The foursome of Rebecca and Gemma DelRossi, Laura Pierce and Maria Ricalton competed at the NSAF New Balance National Meet at the Armory in New York City, on March 14-15, and bettered the previous Section 10 record in the 3,200-meter relay, which had stood for 24 years.

The Canton squad took eighth in a time of 9 minutes, 16.39 seconds, significantly bettering the previous Section 10 record of 9:41.48 that was set by Malone in 1990.

The Patriots of New Jersey won the national title in the 3,200 relay with a 9:00.62.
