POTSDAM State police on Sunday charged Kharissa M. Danboise, 25, of 28 Williams St., Massena, with felony driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Troopers said that at about 12:45 a.m. on Sissonville Road they conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Mercury Sable for a lack of brake light and allegedly found Ms. Danboise to be under the influence of alcohol.
During their road-side investigation and questioning of Ms. Danboise, troopers said she refused to take a pre-screening breath test and tried to get back into the vehicle and leave the scene. Troopers said they had to physically remove her from the vehicle and place her under arrest.
Ms. Danboise had a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent in a breath test administered at the police station, troopers said. She was charged with felony DWI because she had a previous conviction in the past 10 years.
Ms. Danboise was additionally ticketed for inadequate brake lights, uninspected motor vehicle, obstructed view and failure to take a pre-screening breath test. She was arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.
