Syracuse University drew an expected No. 3 seed and will take on Western Michigan in its opener in Buffalo, according to the NCAA Tournament brackets announced today.
Syracuse (27-5) faces No. 14 Western Michigan (23-9) on Thursday after being placed in the South Region bracket.
If the Orange advances, it will play the winner of the matchup between No. 6 Ohio State (25-9) and No. 11 Dayton (23-10) on Saturday in Buffalo.
If Syracuse advances to the Sweet 16, it will play in Memphis.
The No. 1 seed in the South is Florida. Kansas is the No. 2 seed.
