The St. Lawrence County Democratic Committee has unanimously endorsed congressional candidate Aaron Woolf, a documentary filmmaker with a residence in Elizabethtown, Essex County. In a release, the committee said that after discussing issues important to the north country during Mr. Woolfs meeting with committee leaders Tuesday, it decided he is the best person to represent these interests in Washington.
In these trying times, it is important that we elect someone who truly has our best interests in mind; someone who has the character, the knowledge and the integrity to continue to fight to move our District forward, the release said. Aaron Woolf is that person.
Mr. Woolf emerged as the Democratic candidate for the 21st Congressional District after being endorsed by Democratic county leaders Feb. 12. Prior to an appearance in Watertown on Friday when he stressed job creation as a top issue, Mr. Woolf has made few public appearances and spoken very little with the media.
Mr. Woolf, who owns an organic grocery store in Brooklyn, will likely face either Elise M. Stefanik, Willsboro, or Matthew A. Doheny, Watertown, as the Republican candidate.
