It was a disappointing afternoon for Clarkson (28-5-5) on Sunday as Cornell (24-5-4) edged the Golden Knights 1-0 in the ECAC Hockey championship game at Cheel Arena.

Clarkson outshot the Big Red 26-20, but could not get anything past Cornell goalie Lauren Slebodnick.

The only goal of the game came at 14 minutes, 27 seconds of the first period on a shot from Cassandra Pourdier.

Clarkson will host Boston College in an NCAA Tournament quarterfinal on Saturday, probably at 4 p.m.. Cornell, which has won three titles in the last four years, will host Mercyhurst.
