SYRACUSE — Former Carthage star Kailah Kempney scored and provided an assist as the No. 2/3 Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team closed a 12-7 victory over No. 15/14 Towson with five unanswered goals.

Kayla Treanor scored a team-high five goals and Alyssa Murray dished out four assists for the Orange (6-0), which will host No. 3/2 Maryland at 7 p.m. March 10 in the Carrier Dome.

The victory was No. 100 in head coach Gary Gait’s career. The former SU men’s star is in his seventh season at the helm.
