James Gordon scored 9 minutes, 30 seconds into the third period as the Watertown Privateers held off the Danbury Whalers, 3-2, in a Federal Hockey League game at the Watertown Municipal Ice Arena.

Matt Graham and Zach Hale also scored, while Matt Anthony made 30 saves for Watertown (16-26). Britt Ouellette supplied a pair of assists for the Privateers.

Matt Caranci scored with 15 seconds left in regulation for Danbury (28-13), while Tim Richter tied it at one for the Whalers in the second period.

Watertown travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., for a neural site game against the Dayton Demonz 7:05 tonight at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Privateers then return home to take on the Danville Dashers at 5:05 p.m. Sunday.
