The state Office of General Services is soliciting bids for a project to replace windows at the administration building of Riverview Correctional Facility, 1110 Tibbits Drive, Ogdensburg.

Tom Mailey, director of public information for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, said the existing, 25-year-old windows are in poor condition.

“With extensive use of the windows, they are no longer weather tight and the seals and operators are deteriorating and no longer functioning. The result is leaking, energy-inefficient windows,” he said.

Replacement, Mr. Mailey said, is necessary to

“ensure energy efficiency and ability for continued use before total deterioration.”

The project will also comply with state’s energy efficiency guidelines. Bids will be opened March 24. The project is estimated to cost between $100,000 and $250,000.

Firms interested in additional information or acquiring bid documents should visit the OGS website at www.ogs.ny.gov or call 1-877-OGS-PLAN (1-877-647-7526) or (518)474-0203.
