Three Frontier League wrestlers were named as wild-card entrants Wednesday to the NYSPHSAA wrestling championships. South Jefferson’s Jared Carroll (106 pounds) and Logan LaFlamme (195) as well Immaculate Heart Central’s Nick Koelmel (160) were selected for the Division II tournament.

General Brown’s Colton Erb (220) and South Jefferson’s Caleb Beach (126) were selected as alternates in Division II.

A total of 12 wrestlers representing the Frontier League will take part in the Division I and II tournaments that will occur Feb. 28-March 1 at the Times Union Center in Albany.

BOYS BASKETBALL

ORISKANY 54, SACKETS HARBOR 44

Anthony Warcup scored 17 points as the No. 10 Redskins upset the second-seeded Patriots in a Section 3 Class D quarterfinal at Sackets Harbor.

Ryan Schmadel chipped in 16 points, including four 3-pointers, for Oriskany (11-8).

Colton Belcher registered a double-double of 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Thomas Burch contributed 12 points for Sackets Harbor (16-4).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

CAMDEN 50, CARTHAGE 39

Kiersten Leos connected for 22 points to help catapult the No. 4 Blue Devils to a Class A quarterfinal victory over the No. 5 Comets at Camden.

Hayley Kelley added 12 points for Camden (12-6).

Lexi Smith scored 14 points, and Gabby O’Brien pulled down eight rebounds for Carthage (10-9).

HOCKEY

WEST GENESEE 3, IHC 1

Ryan McDonald notched a pair first-period goals as the top-seeded Wildcats beat the No. 3 Cavaliers in a Section 3 Division I semifinal in Camillus.

Aaron Jones scored the game-winner to cap a three-goal first period for West Genesee (20-0-1).

Jared Pignone scored and Cole James stopped 25 shots for Immaculate Heart Central (14-8-0).
