OGDENSBURG — The Fort de la Presentation Association and Forsyth’s Rifles are hosting the annual Battle of Ogdensburg on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., there will be a talk and book signing by John Austin, author of “St. Lawrence County in the War of 1812,” at the Ogdensburg Public Library. A children’s program featuring colonial toys and games will be held at the library at the same time.

Saturday’s reenactment will begin at 1:30 p.m. downtown.

At 3 p.m. Saturday, there will be War of 1812 songs performed by Dave Ruch with the New York Council for the Humanities at the library.

The AmVets Post 19, 215 Ford St., will host a Winter Ball of English Country Dance at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at Sheriff Joseph York’s grave at the Ogdensburg Cemetery. At 1:30 p.m. on Lighthouse Point, the battle reenactment will continue.

The original battle occurred Feb. 22, 1813.
