A flood watch has been issued for Northern New York with temperatures forecast to climb into the mid-40s on Friday. The National Weather Service is cautioning residents of Jefferson, Lewis and Oswego counties of possible ice jams near area creeks and subsequent flooding Thursday night through Friday.

The warmer weather coupled with rain could cause “significant” snowmelt, leading to flooding in streets and in areas with poor drainage.
