A Watertown man has been indicted on charges alleging that he tried to kill his live-in girlfriend by stabbing her numerous times in September.
Jarvis G. Parson, 53, is charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault, aggravated criminal contempt and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment handed up Thursday in Jefferson County Court.
It is alleged that on Sept. 29 he tried to cause the death of Stephanie S. Campbell by stabbing her with a knife, causing puncture wounds and lacerations to her abdomen, neck and arms. Police said at the time of the incident that Parson allegedly stabbed Ms. Campbell their residence at 111 S. Meadow St. and then chased her near the intersection of Meadow Avenue and South Meadow Street.
At the time, there was a Watertown City Court order of protection issued against Parson on behalf of Ms. Campbell.
