A Chicago flight bound for Watertown was forced to land in Syracuse Tuesday afternoon after the plane reportedly suffered a landing gear malfunction.

The plane had only the pilot and copilot on board. The plane, American Eagle Flight 9805, was scheduled to depart back to Chicago at 1:35 p.m., but did not leave the gate until 3:08 p.m. and did not depart the runway until 3:53 p.m.

Calls to the Syracuse Hancock International Airport, Watertown International Airport and American Eagle were not immediately returned.
